Another side of me (Ani-chan)

<sup>Naruto woke up on his own that morning, no need for an alarm clock today. He had barely slept as it was, yesterday's events had caused him a lot of grief and his mind kept buzzing whenever he tried at sleeping. He got up as usual and showered and got ready, he headed downstairs and his parents had already left for work so he grabbed his backpack and headed out the door without breakfast. He wasn't hungry anyway. Naruto walked to the driveway and got into his bright orange 68' Mustang. He loved the car more than anything else in the world, especially when he had found an orange one (orange is his favorite color anyway) and keeps it in great condition. The only thing that might rival this love would be his guitar, (but Sakura seemed to out shine the both of them easily).

He drove to school and parked his car, sighing before climbing out and heading for his locker. He hoped he saw Sakura today, he wanted to talk to her, he hoped she wouldn't be a bitch to his face, had yesterday meant anything to her? As he walked to his locker, he looked around and didn't see them around yet, it killed him that he had to walk up to their clique, he really didn't like a lot of them. But as he stuffed some of his things in the locker and slammed it closed he checked around again, but this time he saw them. Ino's group was walking this way, Sakura among the mix of them, he sighed and waited for them to get closer to make a move.


Ino woke up bright and early this morning and grumbled to herself at the fact that she had to get up. Just chosing to deal with it, as she had to, she started to get ready. First she showered, then she got dressed, did her hair and makeup and by the time she was done, it was practically time to leave. She bobbed down the stairs and grabbed her bag from the table, it was really just a big purse that she kept everything in, and headed out to her car. The silver BMW shone in the morning sun and she climbed inside and started on her way to school.

She parked her car and headed over to her locker, to drop off her things, but it was also where she met her 'friends' each morning. She wasn't the first one there, and she waved cutely to everyone who was already there, Sakura was among them. "Morning Sakura." She chimed as she put away her things, closed her locker, and turned to face everyone. "Let's go guys." Her voice was springy and a little annoying, but it seemed the people in the clique didn't mind much. As they started down the hall, Ino began to babble on to Sakura about her new cell phone, which she had recieved last week because her last one had gone 'out of style.' But as they walked, she noticed Naruto, the new boy on her list, she smirked and turned to everyone, "Okay guys, see you later." It was their cue to leave and Ino just led Sakura and they stopped across the hall from Naruto, it was all in Ino's little plot. She continued to babble on, hoping NAruto might approach them.</sup>

<sup>When Ino arrived in the morning, Sakura spotted her and saw the expression on her face. She was up to something. And as soon as she made the group leave, she noticed Naruto. Sakura immediately became pale. She wondered why Ino was bringing Sakura along with her. It didn't make much sense, unless she was using Sakura as some kind of 'bait' for Naruto.

As they neared him, Sakura began to feel like she couldn't breathe or swallow. Her eyes stayed fixed on the ground as they approached. Yesterday's actions caused all of this and no one knew. No one knew what kind of state of mind Sakura was in right now in front of Naruto. She hoped he wouldn't mention anything about yesterday, especially the reading and swimming part. And definately nothing about the kissing. Sakura knew that no way in hell would Naruto just stand there without saying anything to her. She attempted to take in a deep breath but still continued to look the the floor. She couldn't look into his eyes. It would hurt her too much.</sup>

<sup>Naruto noticed the two and his eyes widened and he nodded to himself, he had to do it. With a deep breath, he walked suickly up to the two and cleared his throat as he approached, as to get their attention. He felt the nagging fear that Ino would just send him off with a scoff and not let him talk, but he was suprised when she smiled at him and greeted him like one of her own. His brow furrowed in confusion, but he turned his attention to Sakura.

"Sakura, I-I need to talk to you." His voice was urgent and his gaze was pleading as he looked at her, attempting to look into her eyes. But she wouldn't lift her gaze at all. He felt another stab of pain as she avoided him, but was tapped on the shoulder suddenly. His head swung around and he noticed Ino, who smiling at him, "You don't want to talk to her." Ino's voice pierced him and his brow furrowed again, "Yes, I do want to talk to her." Ino rolled her eyes and just allowed it for the time being, little did he know she would get him. "Sakura please." His voice was softer as he spoke again, "...please."</sup>

<sup>At this point, she knew the conversation couldn't be avioded and since Ino was around, she couldn't answer the way that she wanted to. Her eyes lifted from the ground and fixed onto his deep blue eyes. Her emerald ones showed not the emotion they had yesterday, but something different. The bell was close to ringing and she knew it. "Class is about to start. Let's go Ino." she took Ino by the arm and begn to walk down the hallway. Ever since she joined the clique, she had never took action as lead before, but this definately required it. She knew she would get a ton of questions from Ino.

It took everything inside of her not to look back at Naruto. She hated that this had to be this way, but she couldn't change it now. Sakura decided that she had to make him hate her. It was the only way to fix it. She knew it would be so difficult for her to do it, but she had no choice. She could feel the regret and every bad emotion fill up her stomach and she began to feel sick. "Sorry Ino, I don't feel very good." she let go of Ino, holding her stomach and turned around. The girl's bathroom was a little ways past Naruto. She formed a smile to Ino and started towards the bathroom over by Naruto.</sup>

<sup>Ino had a questioning look on her face, but soon Sakura began to lead her away, it was okay, whatever it was with Naruto, Sakura didn't want it. Sakura knew her place and that made Ino smirk slightly. She waved to Naruto, "See you around Naruto." She giggled and continued to walk away with Sakura, something seemed wrong and Ino wanted to know what. She raised an eyebrow, she really did care for Sakura somewhere inside her, "What's wrong?" Her voice was softer than usual, but as Sakura started to the bathroom, she shrugged and started towards her classroom, she would wait for Sakura there.


Naruto was completely distraught as she spoke and slumped his shoulders and sighed. Rage filtered into his and he balled his fists and slammed them into the lockers. He relaxed his hands shook his head and turned around to see Sakura heading this way. His eyes widened and he jogged over to her, blocking her path to whereever she was going. "Why are you being like this?" His brow was furrowed and his eyes showed sadness and confusion. "I can't go on like this Sakura, I need some sort of explanation." He forced away the regret that was creeping over him, it wasn't all for nothing and he knew that.</sup>

<sup>When Naruto stopped Sakura in her tracks, the hallway was now clear of other students. She felt a sudden relief. At least she wouldn't get sick now. But then there was Naruto. She already felt horrible about everything and now was confronted with it. Why did I do it? Now everything if all fucked up. she thought, looking up at Naruto. "I-I'm sorry Naruto." she knew she couldn't cry here, which is why she scolded herself inside and tried to look more happy than too sad.

The truth of the matter was that she really wanted to be able to hang out with Naruto. Maybe Ino would bring him to the group and she could hang around him without feeling guilty and such. She looked from side to side and after she had apologized, Sakura embraced Naruto for a few seconds, then backed off and walked down the hall to her class. They were in the same first period, so she knew he would most likely walk with her. But Sakura got a head start. She walked faster than normal since the late bell was a minute from ringing. Not that she hadn't been tardy before.</sup>

<sup>Naruto tried to keep her, but she rushed off to class and he sighed angrily, they would just have to wait until after to talk. He rushed after her and opened the door of the classroom for her and they went and sat down before the bell had the chance to ring. Not that Jiraya would even cared if they were tardy or not, he was just off in the corner, reading porn. They were told to do other homework, and not having any, Naruto worked on the song he had started writing. He scribbled some words and erased and rewrote many things throughout the period, Sasuke sat silently next to him. Sasuke seemed to understand and didn't say anything the entire period, he stuffed the paper into his pocket when the bell wrung.

Still not being able to say anything to Sakura the rest of the periods, Naruto started to get angry. Then finally lunch rolled around and Naruto settled it that he would talk to her then. He left Sasuke, Shikamaru, Chouji, Kiba, and Temari dumb-founded at their table as he started towards the popular table. As he walked up, Ino smiled at his again and Naruto gave him a small smile but then turned to Sakura. He grabbed onto her arm, "You are coming with me." He didn't care what she said, he was taking her away from everyone else so they could talk, he didn't care that Ino furrowed her brow and sighed angrily as they walked off. Naruto dragged her along and out of the cafeteria and out onto the school grounds. The sun was bright and he pulled her to a nearby oak where they could talk secluded from everyone, especially Ino. He looked diractly at her and held on tightly as he spoke, "What is wrong with you?!" His voice was loud and strained, "Please talk to me, I want to know that yesterday meant something to you." His voice faded away, his eyes were sorrowful and pleading, he needed this.</sup>

<sup>The day had been quite boring and well, quiet. By the time lunch rolled around, she knew that Naruto would try and pull something. She watched him stand up from his table, leaving his friends and walking over to the popular group. She knew how confused they must have been. Naruto had grabbed her by the arm and forced her to come along with him. When they came to a stop, Naruto asked what was wrong with her. Sakura made her hands into a fist and glared at him. Who was he to say things like that?

When he persued to talk about yesterday, Sakura became a little nervous. Her feelings still weren't totally clear and she didn't want to lead him in the wrong direction. Whatever that direction may be. Her emerald eyes gazed into his blue ones as they stood in silence. "I can't do this Naruto. I'm sorry for the trouble I caused you and every one else, including myself. Please forgive me." she pleaded. She wanted everything to be okay. It seemed that he was in a way angry with her and she didn't like it. She glanced back to the tables and noticed Ino staring evily at her. Sakura just stood there, lost in thought and staring into Naruto's eyes. What she needed was his kiss to make everything better. But she knew better than that. Especially at a time like this.</sup>

<sup>Naruto could tell she was sorry and also angry with his own actions toward her. But he didn't care, he needed to talk to her and she was continually ignoring and avoiding his questions. Her being sorry was not what he needed, he needed her to just explain what was happening. He furrowed his brow and looked at her, bewilderment in his eyes. He exhaled a bit angrily and looked back up into her eyes.

Sakura might know better, but Naruto didn't care that Ino had been watching a moment before. He brought his hand to her cheek and the other was placed lightly on her hip. Naruto brought her gently to him and he kissed her carefully and hesitantly at first, but when he gathered confidence, he pressed more forceively against her. He would let her go just yet, he kept her there and refused to break the kiss. He only deepened it and ever so slightly began to push her up against the tree she was backed into. Naruto was in heaven at the moment and wouldn't let Sakura break away just yet, even if this was the only way he could convince her.</sup>

<sup>As soon as his lips pressed against hers, there was no backing away. All of her feeling lifted and she was just there with Naruto and no one else. There was no Ino staring at them with amazement and a look of murder for Sakura. There were no Shikamaru and Choji and Temari staring from Naruto's table with their jaw to the floor. It was just them in their own world. She knew the moment he backed away, she would see the trouble cause by this. But she needed this. She wanted this. Sakura wanted this. That was what she had been looking for. The unknown feelings suddenly surfaced and became recognized. She liked Naruto.

Sakura slipped a tongue into their kiss. After their french kiss, Sakura backed away and smiled. It had been a long time since her smile was true. She loved this feeling and of being on top of everything. She had beaten Ino without having to really try. Sakura won by just being herself. But she hadn't won just yet. She had most likely actually lost her spot in the clique. Looking up into Naruto's eyes, she smiled. "Thank you Naruto." she said. She knew he probably didn't understand why she had said it, but it made perfect sense to Sakura.

She smirked and walked over to Ino. This was something she never saw herself doing. "Hey Ino. I guess this means Naruto doesn't like you. Aw, too bad. I'm sure it's not because you are ugly. Or wait, I don't really know." she laughed and walked over to Naruto. "I know I left you guys a long time ago and I do apologize. I don't expect you to take me back with open arms. I just ask for your forgiveness." she said, looking up into his eyes. She had really done this. There was no turning back now. There was no I'm sorry Ino. But Sakura liked the feeling of power over Ino. Maybe being popular wasn't such a great thing, although it was sort of nice for her to be noticed all the time.</sup>

<sup>As Sakura brought him into a french kiss, he pushed right back against her and added his own tounge into the mix. After a few minutes of this, they both pulled away and Naruto grinned wholeheartedly. He watched her smile, she was really happy and so was he. Especialy the fact that he had made her that way, he had gotten through to her and now everything was different. He watched her in awe as she walked up to Ino and told her off. It was exactly what he had always watched from her, to stand up to Ino.

He walked slowly over to his own table and everyone sitting there was wide-eyed except for Sasuke. He just smiled faintly, Naruto caught that grinned at him, glad he was his best friend. He did understand him best out of everyone. Then Sakura started over to them and and the table because suddenly defensive, Naruto just nodded to them, "It's okay guys, she's different now." And they were okay when she came up and explained herself and shrugged, they didn't mind if she wasn't with Ino. Naruto grinned and laced her hand in his as he sat down at the table, Sakura sat down next to him and he was finally happy again.


Ino gaped and scoffed as Sakura spoke, how dare she do something like that? And to Ino? She scowled and turned back to the clique, who was as shocked as she was. She would not get her spot back in the group and she hoped she was happy with her geeky friends. "Bitch." She mumbled to herself and then just continued to talk, Ino hadn't lost yet. She would get her way if it killed her.</sup>
