Suddenly, Shikamaru was kocked from his dream-like state with the approaching of another person coming towards him. He blinked and shook his head before he turned and looked to see Temari walked his way. He gave her a half-smile and shrugged, "They were totally and undeniably troublesome." Shikamaru thought ahead of that night's work, it made him sigh in thought of the effort he had to press forth to even get half of it done. Nope, he decided on not doing it at all, that would be much easier, especially for the lazy bum Shikamaru was.
He blinked and continued the conversation, "How about you? How were your classes?" His eyes were strangely bright today. They were not changed from his sleepy, only half awake type gaze, but the color of his eyes was brough forth more easily and he seemed to be happier than usual. It was all because of Temari and Shikamaru knew he couldn't deny himself that, maybe to other people, but certainly not to himself. He kept the slightly smug smile on his features for the entire conversation, which was also abormal for the young Nara. Usually blank faced, the even slight show of emotion scared a few people. But Shikamaru in fact liked it.

Temari smiled as she saw Shikamaru break out of his state as she approached. He always seemed to be like that, carefree, and relaxed. She liked how he never hardly showed his emotions, but there was a lot she really liked about him. Ever since Temari moved to Konoha and lay eyes on him she knew she liked him. Much more than like, though. It was only an expression. What she felt for him was too much for words, but Temair would never say anything, or try to explain. Hopefully Shikamaru felt the same way.
Her smile grew bigger at his response. Everything was a drag and troublesome, those were of course, his quotes. She half laughed as she replied. "I got detention, tons of homework, and they threatened to forcably remove my tie." Temari said, pointing to her head. The tie was no longer there, it was shoved away in her bag by her fan. Stupid teachers. Inwardly, she sighed. They still couldn't break her mood right now, though. She was excited for Homecoming already, although it was a bit far off. But Temari noticed Shikamaru's smile, she guessed, or hoped, that it was because of her. Why else would he be so happy? He didn't like school, she knew that, because no one did. He wasn't happy doing his homework. Taking out a brown sack from her bag, Temari opened it and took out her lunch, which was a small sandwhich with barely any meat, she didn't have much. At their apartment, she gave most of the food to her brothers, because she knew they were more hungry than she was, they were guys, after all. [/sup][/color] |

Shikamaru nodded and gave her another slight smile, it was like Temari to get in trouble for such a stupid thing. But it was her right to be unique and Shikamaru liked that part of her personality quite a bit. It made her different, it made her stand out from the rest of the factory made, bird-brained girls at the school. They made him want to gag. Especially the stupid ones. Since Shikamaru was smarter than most, the ones who were below average made him want to smack them across the face.
He grumbled to himself inaudably about it, but only for a moment before returning his attention back to Temari. As she pulled out some food, he did the same and peered into the brown sac beforejust putting it on the table beside him. Nothing was appeting enough for him at the moment, so he pulled out his trusty bottle of Coke and started on that. With a quick twist of the wrist, the opened the bottle and brought it to his lips and her drank a good portion of it before putting the cap back on and placing the bottle on the table beside him. Since he was sitting on top of the table, Shikamaru decided to relax and he layed back on his elbows, just to stare up at the blue sky above them. He liked to watch the clouds, it was relaxing and didn't take any effort, but the best thing was that it brought you away from your screwed up life and into a happier place. But why get away when he had Temari right beside him?
